Big Rock Park South Is Buzzing With Pollen-Tial!

Last spring, the City of Sammamish opened a portion of Big Rock Park South for trail use. This is the third and final property of a 51-acre phased land donation that began in 2010. These three properties boast nearly 4 miles of trails to explore.

Project 100 - Ribbon Cutting
|
On Saturday November 2nd, the City of Kirkland, in partnership with Project 100 held a ribbon cutting for an AED at Crestwoods park. Kirkland is installing AEDs throughout the park system with a focus on heavily used parks, and parks with sports courts or athletic fields and partnered with Project 100 to further expand this effort. The AED at Crestwoods Park is the second AED installed by Project 100. Special guests included Kirkland Mayor, Kelli Curtis, from Project 100 Adam Lang and Dr. Jon Drezner, UW Medicine Center for Sports Cardiology; Deb Henning President and Founder of SaveStation; Kyle Doughtery, Community Engagement Manager for the Seattle Seahawks, Blitz and members from the Seahawks Dancers!

Harper's Playground | Bi-Annual Design Workshop
|
In October, Harper’s Playground hosted its bi-annual Design Workshop aimed towards playground professionals and community leaders to guide them in designing their very own radically-inclusive playground. The workshop is split into classroom time and touring the Portland/Vancouver areas playgrounds designed by the Harper’s Playground organization. This photo at the Chelsea Anderson Memorial Play Station at Marshall Park in Vancouver, Washington demonstrates the use of natural materials including these locally sourced cedar logs.
