Student's FAQs

Q: How much does it cost and what do I get out of it?
A: Students can register for only $60.00! This includes the student pre-conference, attendance at BOTH days of the conference, lunch all three days, and a one-year membership to WRPA!

Register Today!

Q: That is so cheap! What is the catch?
A: In turn for subsidizing the student rate, all students will be asked to volunteer. This will include: helping at registration desks, collecting tickets to the awards banquet, being room hosts, and a few other random jobs. Nothing too difficult and it will not take away from you attending the conference.

Q: What is the Student Pre-Conference?
A: This is a day dedicated to you. Professionals from the Student Connection Committee are planning a day of fun and education. Activities will include volunteer training, professional development, leadership skills, mock interviews, resume reviews, mini job fair, plus fun and games! This day will tell you how to break into the field, allow you to network with current professionals and other students, and maybe even land a summer job/internship! Trust us, you will not want to miss this!

Q: What is the conference all about/why should I attend?
A: This is the largest gathering of parks and recreation professionals in the state. You will get to network, make connections, attend educational sessions, and have fun. Educational sessions cover a variety of topics including park planning, trending programs, risk management, leadership/professional development, and many other topics. Check out the information flyer for more details!
