Central Washington University is proud to offer Recreation Management as a specialization within the Sport Management degree plan. Sport Management at CWU is committed to advancing knowledge and experimental opportunities to allow them to lead the Sports and Recreation industry into the future.
In addition to regular classwork, CWU Students are given the opportunity to attend professional development sessions, conferences, and annual student travel.

Sport Management prepares the next generation of industry leaders. WSU sport management students build their knowledge, skills, and networks through a variety of practicum and internship experiences. Our students, faculty, and alumni make an impact at WSU, in our community, and around the world.
About the Major...
- Students complete at least 580 hours with agencies, in multiple fields, by the time they graduate. These students are ready to seamlessly transition into careers in sport and recreation industries.
- Over 100 Undergraduate Sport Management students each semester develop professional skills and gain practical experience in a Pac-12 athletic department, university recreation center, or community parks and recreation setting.
- Each year students raise more than $20,000 through the program’s capstone event management course. Students plan and carry out sport-related events to benefit dozens of local and national nonprofit organizations.
- Our upper-division courses are capped at 30 students. We keep classes small to encourage participation and form relationships with our future graduates.
