Session Description:

When does an organization need a policy or a procedure or a guideline? How can an SOP help operations rather than bog staff down. In this session participants will learn the value and how to develop an internal process create good SOPs, Policies and Procedures. This session is geared towards park maintenance and operations, ranger programs and volunteer programs.

About the Speaker:

Sylvana Niehuser is the Operations and Maintenance Manager for Olympia Parks. She has served the City of Olympia in various roles for 15 years. Sylvana was the first female Park Ranger for the City of Olympia. She developed and implemented a successful park ranger program with several park ranger positions and a robust volunteer program. Sylvana currently serves on the board for the Washington Recreation and Parks Association (WRPA) where she finds her collaborative leadership style aligns with her colleagues and fellow board members. She thrives in mentoring and growing a dynamic and talented team who values inclusion and equity.
