Introducing the Hispanic Professionals in Parks and Recreation Networks (HPPR)
Originating from the collective vision of Hispanic professionals in parks and recreation, the HPPR Network stands as a beacon of empowerment, connection, and support for Hispanics navigating this field. With a foundational mission to foster development and create a collective platform, HPPR has swiftly become a pivotal resource for professionals nationwide.
Guidance and leadership within HPPR are provided by a distinguished board comprising eight diverse professionals, each bringing unique insights from various corners of the industry. Their expertise is further enriched by an Advisory Board that includes CEOs, Department Directors, and Superintendents, ensuring a well-rounded direction for the network's activities.
In the digital dominion, HPPR has seen remarkable growth, amassing over 400 followers on Facebook alongside the launch of an engaging website. These platforms serve as vital tools for facilitating dialogue, exchanging knowledge, and expanding professional networks among members.
A cornerstone of HPPR's offerings is its dedication to continuous professional development. This commitment is manifested through monthly Education Sessions that deliver critical insights and foster community learning. Furthermore, Spring 2024 marks the introduction of a Mentorship Program designed to bolster career advancement and facilitate mentoring relationships within the HPPR community.
The presence of HPPR board members at prominent conferences, including the NRPA in Dallas (2023) and various state-level gatherings, underscores the network's dedication to sharing knowledge and elevating the discourse within the broader parks and recreation community.
Don’t miss the networking session set for May at the WRPA, spearheaded by Angie Encerrado Rance, Recreation Supervisor with the City of Shoreline, HPPR board member and treasurer. This event promises a vibrant forum for exchanging ideas, offering support, and strengthening bonds among Hispanic professionals who share a common passion.
Through these endeavors, the HPPR Network continues to cultivate a dynamic and inclusive community for Hispanic professionals in the parks and recreation domain, driving forward a legacy of empowerment and collaboration.
