Aquatic Staff Training and Development: the Devils in the Details

Have you noticed a lack of productivity from your aquatics staff? Do you want to take your staff and their job performance to the next level? This session will explore detailed and specific ways to adequately train all levels of aquatic staff, including supervisors, head guards, lifeguards and guest services staff, and provide you with a framework to get the most out of your team.

Participant will:

  1. Better understand the need for, and benefits of detailed and specific training or aquatic staff.
  2. Learn how to identify the areas in which their staff needs training and learn specific ways to counteract those areas.
  3. Learn an easily implementable framework for training aquatic staff in detailed and specific ways.
  4. Learn real-life examples of training ideas for all levels of aquatic staff.

Speaker:

George Deines is a Project Manager for Counsilman-Hunsaker, specializing in aquatic master planning, business planning, feasibility studies and operational training and development. Before joining the CH team in 2014, he worked as the Aquatics/Sports Manager for the City of Garland, Texas, overseeing the operation of Surf and Swim, the city's 4-acre waterpark, and three community pools. He holds degrees from the University of North Texas and Dallas Theological Seminary.  He is an Associate with Ellis & Associates, Chair of the World Waterpark Association's Safety Committee and President of the North Texas Aquatics Association.
