Session explores use of vehicles for both park maintenance and park activities. Learn best practices and how to take steps to reduce liability. This discussion will include a review of risk exposures when maintaining and operating vehicles for park maintenance and recreation programs by addressing policies and procedures, inspection and maintenance, driver requirements, use of equipment and more! Presenters will help participants implement sound risk management practices.

  • Identify the risk exposures associated with the use of vehicles in parks maintenance and parks activity programs.
  • Recognize loss prevention and loss control measures that help mitigate potential loss within the entity’s parks fleet maintenance, and activity programs.
  • Utilize risk management tools and resources that provide assistance for parks professionals responsible for vehicle use.

Drew Brien, WCIA 

Drew is a Senior Risk Representative at WCIA and has been with the risk pool for six years. He has 10 years of experience as a claim adjuster, handling both private and all types of municipal claims. Drew is now using his experience from claims to help risk pool members reduce their risk exposures.

 

 


Carlene Brown, WCIA 

Carene Brown is a Senior Risk Management Representative with Washington Cities Insurance Authority. Prior to joining WCIA Carlene was a Claims Adjuster in the private sector for 11 years handling a variety of complex bodily injury claims. Carlene has over 20 years of experience in the field of Insurance and Risk Management and enjoys helping WCIA Member cities with risk management advice.
