Session highlights the risk management essentials of operating Parks. Learn best practices and how to manage and take steps to reduce liability. This session is tailored to provide attendees with an overview of guidelines on reducing liability and understanding the risk management process. This discussion includes a review of risk exposures associated with parks. Presenters will help participants become comfortable identifying liability exposures and implementing risk management practices.

Robin Aronson, WCIA

Robin Aronson joined Washington Cities Insurance Authority (WCIA) in 2014 as the Risk Services Manager. With more than 25 years’ experience in the insurance and risk management industry, Robin has had a broad range of experience, having worked as a staff attorney at the Washington State Insurance Commissioner’s Office, claim attorney for a major insurance carrier and risk manager for a national corporation. Robin enjoys helping her clients and pool members achieve success in implementing risk management practices.

Kim Dennis, WCIA

Kim Dennis is a Senior Risk Management Representative with Washington Cities Insurance Authority and has 26 years of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining WCIA in January 2023, she spent 8 years in Risk Management with the Port of Seattle. She credits her understanding of Risk Management to working in many different areas of the insurance industry throughout her career in both the private and public sector. Kim draws on her experience to assist WCIA members in developing risk strategies. 

Farah Derosier, WCIA

Farah Derosier is a Senior Risk Management Representative with Washington Cities Insurance Authority. Prior to joining WCIA, Farah was a Legal and Risk Manager for a public entity for just shy of 16 years and prior to that worked for a law firm working primarily in insurance defense. Farah likes to pull from her experience from being on the member side when helping WCIA members navigate potential risk exposures.
