Managing Risks of Special EventsWCIA Risk Services Staff - Carlene Brown, Tanya Crites, Drew Brien and Kim Dennis, Sr. Risk Management Reps | Room 1Special events attract more people to parks for entertainment, and risks. This session will help you learn how to analyze and evaluate events for risk factors that help reduce liability. Presenters will include a review of the following: event types, vendors; the planning, preparation, and permitting efforts, and insurance requirements to maximize risk management efforts. Learning objectives: 1) To identify risk exposures and controls associated with special event programs and activities.2) To recognize loss prevention and control measures that help mitigate potential loss within the entity’s special events programs and activities. 3) To utilize risk management tools that help with parks professionals responsible for special events activities.
