Are you a PRO at PROS planning?Thursday, April 23 | 1:00pm - 2:15pm Session Description: Is your PROS Plan sitting on the shelf collecting dust? Daunted by the expectation to address equity and conduct better outreach? Struggling to meet your adopted level-of-service goals? The cities of Bothell and Lynnwood will share how Comp Plans/Parks, Recreation and Open Space Plans were created and used in their cities. This session will focus on how comprehensive planning is being reshaped, how to create and implement a plan that does more than sit on a shelf, strategies for inclusive community engagement, and addressing Level of Service goals such as the relevancy park access, park quality, and park demands. Speakers: Tracey Perkosky, Sarah Olson About the Speakers: Tracey brings a diverse background into the world of Parks and Rec as she is currently the Parks Planning & Grants Manager in Bothell. She previously served as the Interim Director in Bothell and St. Helena, CA and also plenty of years as a Finance Manager, Director of Consulting in grant writing/management, and non-profit project management. Tracey is a highly experienced trainer and facilitator and brings a creative and thoughtful approach to all of her projects. Like many, Sarah has worn many hats in her 20-year plus parks and rec career from aquatics, events, marketing, arts, community health to planning. Currently, Sarah's work is focused on long-range planning to improve community health through parks and recreation. Under her leadership, Lynnwood was selected to be part of the NRPA 10-minute walk campaign and is working on improving park access for all Lynnwood-residents. Return to Schedule |
