Adopting a Land Acquisition Strategy & Implementation Program

Session Description: The City of Sammamish adopted a Land Acquisition Strategy & Implementation Program in 2017. The purpose of this program is to prioritize acquisition efforts and standardize the evaluation process used by City staff to screen properties for Council consideration. Results from an extensive public outreach process confirmed that the community overwhelmingly supports the acquisition of land for public use. A site nomination form, set-up as part of this effort allows any member of the community to suggest parcels for acquisition.

Speakers: Anjali Myer, Angie Feser

About the Speakers: Anjali has been with the City of Sammamish for over 11 years. She currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Parks & Recreation Department and oversees the department budget, parks planning division and land acquisition program for the City. With more than two decades of work experience as a Project Manager, she has completed many park projects, several of significant scale. She has a bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a master’s degree in Landscape Architecture. 

Angie Feser, Director of Parks, Recreation & Facilities for the City of Sammamish has worked for the Cities of Lacey, University Place and Covington as a recreation professional and park planner for more than 12 years as well as private sector as a Landscape Architect. She has a Bachelor’s in Recreation and Leisure Studies and Master degrees in Public Administration and Landscape Architecture. Angie is an active member of WRPA and is Co-Chair of the Professional Development Committee.
