Date: Wednesday, May 3Speaker: In September 2015, the Surgeon General made a call to action to promote walking and walkable communities. In just 22 minutes a day, you can drastically improve your health. Creating a walking culture in your city or community is not as hard as it may seem. In this session, attendees will learn about ways to promote and create a culture of walking. Learn how to create a walking program on your own or partner with local community groups to get your citizens moving. Program examples come from the City of Edmonds, Mountlake Terrace, and Kenmore. Each offers a walking program that is free to the community and very popular. |
