Spinker Recreation Center Gets a Fresh New Look!

Pierce County Parks welcomed the community on Saturday, August 17, to celebrate the grand opening of Sprinker Recreation Center’s brand-new outdoor amenities! Families and friends came out for a free day of fun complete with games, activities, and plenty of smiles. The makeover brings even more ways for all ages to play, explore, and enjoy one of Tacoma’s favorite recreation spots.

Mindfulness Walk  – City of Tacoma

Join mindfulness teacher and ecologist Sarah Low for a guided walk through Wright Park in the City of Tacoma on Friday, September 5. Experience simple practices to deepen awareness, appreciation, and connection with nature.

 

Meet at the W.W. Seymour Conservatory. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.

Spotlight Professional - Jeremy Jasman 

City of Mercer Island

Since 2011, Jeremy has served the Mercer Island community in various roles, now overseeing athletic fields, community center rentals, staff support, and budget management as Recreation Coordinator. Passionate about parks and recreation, he enjoys creating meaningful community connections, engaging with WRPA, and even stepping in as the city’s mascot during Summer Celebration.

Join the Washington Community Forestry Council!  

Help Shape Urban Forestry

The Washington Community Forestry Council (WCFC) advises the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Commissioner of Public Lands on urban and community forestry issues across Washington State. WRPA members are invited to serve and help guide projects, priorities, and equity initiatives. Meetings are virtual, five times a year (~3.5 hrs each), with 3-year terms (up to two terms).
