Join Washington Recreation and Parks Association members for a night at the ballpark! This offer is open to WRPA members, their friends and family, and any other parks and recreation or city government employees.

On the Move!
New Administrative Support Assistant for the City of Tukwila Parks and Recreation:
Jenny Morgan recently joined Tukwila Parks and Recreation as Administrative Support Assistant working in their Rental Office. She previously served as the Student Events and Activities Coordinator at Bellevue College. In her leisure time, Jenny enjoys watching football, playing musical instruments (she plays 15 kinds!), and drinking a nice large cup of coffee.
New Lead Park Maintenance Specialist Re-joins the City of Tukwila Parks and Recreation:
Gordon Hanscom re-joins Tukwila as Lead Park Maintenance Specialist. He has a diverse background in government operations and has worked in a variety of agencies in Washington, Colorado and Virginia. Gordon previously worked for the City of Tukwila from 2007-09 in the Public Works Department. Along with wife Rachel, they have 5 children with the oldest attending Eastern Washington University and the youngest born in March 2016. Gordon and family enjoy the outdoors, cycling, moto-cross, stock cars, camping, snow sports, baseball and football.
New Parks and Recreation Director for the City of Redmond:
Maxine Whattam is confirmed as the new Parks and Recreation Director as of March 1, 2016. She comes with over 24 years of experience in management positions for the City of Kennewick. In her last 4 years with the City of Kennewick she was the Parks and Director and led a department of 120 employees, 600 volunteers, and managed 600 acres of parkland. "She brings a high level of creativity, innovation and effectiveness to us, as evidenced by her years in Kennewick," says City Redmond's Mayor, John Marchione.
