Enhancing Safety with Business Intelligence

Wednesday, April 22 | 2:45pm - 4:00pm

Session Description: Learn how Metro Parks Tacoma is creating a safer work environment and more efficient safety reporting for staff and management using ESRI GIS technology. Like many other agencies, MPT struggled to effectively report employee injuries and incidents in a simple and user-friendly way. The add-hoc system was paper based, time-intensive, and redundant, resulting in a process that was burdensome on the organization. This discussion will go over what specific pain points existed and demo the technology that is helping improve the process.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Learn how simple ESRI GIS technology can be applied to improve paper-based process – without extensive licensing or technical training.
  2. Learn why location, and timely-response times are critical to ensuring the safety of all employees.
  3. Learn how MPT will adapt and evolve the employee accident reporting platform in the future as well as other related process which mirror a similar workflow using GIS and Data Analytics (Busies Intelligence) software.
