Speakers: Terry Snyder, Park Developer, City of Vancouver About the Speakers: Terry is a landscape architect who has worked for the City of Vancouver for more than 30 years. He has been involved in design and rehabilitation of almost every park in Vancouver at some point in his career. Among his most significant projects is the redevelopment of Esther Short Park as a part of a downtown Vancouver redevelopment plan. More recently, Terry oversaw a 10-year process to create a vision for and ultimately construct Vancouver's new Waterfront Park. David’s influence, which is felt in in communities throughout Washington, results from his 25 years of collaboration with his clients to plan, design, and construct dynamic, appealing, and ecologically responsible recreation facilities and open spaces. His breadth of work ranges from parks and trails to land use plans whose intent is always to support sustainability, connect communities, and promote vitality. His most recent contributions to quality of place are the Vancouver Waterfront Park and its Grant Street Pier, for which he served as project manager and landscape architect of record. The project, which opened in September and is already a beloved community asset, created a world-class open space that reconnects Vancouver with the Great River of the West.
