Lean process improvement continues to catch on as a serious and productive way to make improvements in process efficiency and effectiveness. This session will describe what Lean is and illustrate how it was used by the State Auditor's Office's Local Government Performance Center to make real improvement in important local government processes. This session will describe next steps in implementing Lean in your organization. The session will walk through the Lean process and illustrate how it has proven to be effective in a wide array of situations.Hearing that your members may have an interest in Lean, and knowing that the SAO offers Lean training free of charge to local governments.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will learn Lean thinking, tools and techniques.
  • Participants will understand how other local governments are using Lean with great success.
  • Participants will be able to list ways to apply Lean to your daily work.
