Description:

In this workshop, you will learn the basic characteristics of projects and how to effectively manage them to completion. You can identify in advance the major reasons projects fail and learn to implement a process for avoiding those major errors. And as an added bonus, you will learn how to do all of this WITHOUT buying or needing to learn expensive computer software!

Speaker Bio: Brian Ziegler, PE, Pierce County Parks & Recreation

Brian Ziegler is the Director of Pierce County Public Works and Utilities for Pierce County.  He is a valedictorian graduate of Saint Martins College (now University) in Olympia.  He has over 37 years of experience in the planning, financing, design, construction, and maintenance of public works facilities.  

Brian is a national APWA Top Ten Public Works Director Award winner and a regular instructor at the APWA Northwest Public Works Institute, a leadership and management training program for public works professionals.  His research focus is answering the question, "Why do you do that thing you do?"
