Our parks, trails and natural lands are prized in Washingto n State. Capital investments to sustain, expand and redevelop our collecti ve local parks systems come largely through established grant programs in t he state’s biennial Capital Budget. That budget doesn’t cover local parks M&O needs, so tools to help address those needs are vital. Join us to l isten to the Washington Recreation and Parks Association (WWRP) and Washing ton Wildlife and Recreation Coalition (WWRC) speak to their joint capital b udget priorities, and hear from Members of the Senate Ways and Means Commit tee who can share their outlook for outdoor recreation grant funding progra ms and brief us a on a local parks funding options bill (SB 5006).
NOTE: Legislative Speakers from the Senate will prov ide a preview for Great Outdoors Day attendees on state-of-play of Capital Budget, and perspective on other potential legislation impacting outdoor re creation. Q&A woven in and participants also can use chat box for quest ions.
